iPhone 7 Plus - should you buy 2016?

For the 3rd year in a row, Apple is dividing its line of smartphones into regular and "Plus" versions. Obviously, the phones differ not only in the name, but also in a number of characteristics. In versions of the iPhone 6 and 6s, the difference was only in the screen size and optical stabilization in the main camera, now the situation has changed somewhat in favor of the older version. In short, the content to buy it has become much more. In the following lines, we tried to show all the pros and cons of buying such an iPhone

fantastic screen

The diagonal of the iPhone 7 Plus matrix is 5.5 ", which is similar to the older versions of 15 and 14 years. In the smaller version, the screen size is 4.7". The extension has also not changed, it is 1920x1080 pixels (Full HD), while the number of pixels is 401 per inch. For this alone, I agree to buy the iPhone 7 Plus.

The color quality here is at a very high level. Saturation and clarity of color - just super. At Apple, there are no problems with the quality of matrices at all, especially in the iPhone. In addition, the Cupertino-based company claimed to have expanded the screen's dynamic range, which in turn improved on-screen images.

About the preliminary "chips" of the screen are also not forgotten. 3D Touch is built into it, which understands the force of pressure on it. Whether it is useful is up to you to decide, we like it. This is especially convenient when you need to turn off 3G/LTE.

Two-eyed camera

The main difference between the usual "seven" and the "Plus" version is the presence of a second camera. The people call this camera "telephoto", or telephoto lens. You will have a completely logical question: "Why do I need this camera?". Firstly, it allows you to use optical zoom, secondly, portrait mode. This mode is created due to the fact that the focal length of the main camera is 28mm, and the auxiliary camera is 56mm. Namely due to the difference in focal lengths, the same effect of "depth" of the image is created.

If we touch on the issue of "numbers", then the situation here is as follows:

• Main sensor - 12MP, f/1.8. Additional sensor - 12MP, f / 2.8.
• Front sensor - 7MP, f/2.2.

The front camera is at a high level here. All the irregularities of your skin, or vice versa, will be reflected in detail in the photo. The only thing I would like in this camera is a wider viewing angle, otherwise all friends may not fit into the frame.

For photo processing, Apple uses an algorithm based on "neural networks". Thus, each next frame will be of better quality. As of mid-2017, the quality of the photo has increased significantly, and the number of errors in the "portrait mode" has decreased significantly.

Hull update

Nothing special, the case material remained the same (aluminum), but the color palette has changed a bit. Complete rejection of Space Gray, and its replacement with Black (black), and Jet Black (glossy black). A few months later, the PRODUCT (RED) version appeared. Nice color update.

Plain black is practical and very aesthetic, while glossy black looks sharp and scratches quickly. Red bright, not like everyone else. Rose Gold / Gold / Silver remained unchanged.

By the way, the "HOME" button is no longer physical, it is now impossible to feel how the button is pressed. The taptic engine vibrating motor is responsible for the “click”, the pressure force on which can be adjusted. The advantage of this technology is that the button will not break, since it does not move, but the minus is the cost of repairs (if any). Note that the 7 Plus is much larger than the iPhone 7, and the screen is correspondingly larger, which is a plus for working with more information.

Sound speed

Traditionally, the internal components of the device have been updated. The processor now has 4 cores running at 2.34 Ghz. It is rather strange for Apple to install processors that are similar in frequency and number of cores to the Android competitor. But such a processor provides him with just "reactive" speed in the work and launch of programs and games.

RAM on board 3GB (in the iPhone 7 - 2GB), which is a lot for iOS. You can keep many heavy programs running, or even lighter ones. He is definitely very powerful.

What is worth saying?

The sound here is pretty good. Now the iPhone has stereo speakers, the sound is loud and clear (Apple always does). The lack of a 3.5 mm headphone jack can be attributed to the sound, for us this is a significant minus.

I wanted to emphasize that the iPhone has protection against moisture, not water. Apple's warranty does not cover "heated" phones, as it stated on the official website.
