Should I buy an iPhone 8?

On September 2, 2017, people seemed to be waiting for the new year, as Apple showed a new smartphone - the iPhone 8. How could such a miracle not happen, since information about the device was on the Internet a few months before the announcement of the presentation. Nevertheless, the device is interesting, I want to buy it. For what? You can ask, let's try to figure out if the iPhone 8 is really worthy of its name.

The building has been updated from "A" to "Z"

At first glance at the device, it may seem that the phone has not changed much compared to the previous generation of the device, but just pick it up and everything will become clear. The device has completely changed.

First of all, the colors changed, Rose Gold, Black disappeared, but Space Gray returned (which now looks more black). Many were waiting for a new color, unfortunately it was not shown.

The phone became glass with a metal frame. It looks very stylish, reminiscent of the iPhone 4 and iPhone 4s (evokes very nostalgic feelings). Inside there is a steel frame and a frame made of aluminum 7000 series (aircraft). With such materials, it is very comfortable to hold it in your hand.

The device feels solid, reliable and comfortable. Thanks to such materials and design, the device received protection against water according to the IP67 standard. We saw this in the iPhone 7 / iPhone 7 Plus, but I repeat.

Updated Camera

The camera has not changed, 12MP and the aperture size is the same as f / 1.8. But there is one "but". The algorithms of the camera have changed, that is, the pictures will be better, the number of "noise", "Sharping", "water colors" in the photo has decreased. The camera has learned to shoot video in 4k 60 fps and slow motion at 240 fps.

All the rest remained at the same level as it was. In defense of the new cameras, it is very difficult to improve the performance by changing the hardware with this sensor size, only processing algorithms remain here.

Lightning Processor

Inside there is an Apple A11 Bionic processor, which is so powerful that it can be easily "dragged" with a MacBook. This is a 6-core chip that is more powerful than what is in the iPad Pro 12.9 2017. It is 25% more powerful than A10. In fact, it can be installed in the "dock" and used instead of a PC. With it, you can generally forget about "freezes", "lags" and other problems.

Such processor power is used for AR-kit (augmented reality) to get fantastic graphics in games. Thanks to the new processor, the distribution of resources has become much better, so the phone "lives" more optimally.

The amount of RAM is 2GB. This is quite enough for the system to work quickly, since the memory speed of the phone itself is at a very high level.

What's new in iPhone 8?

3D Touch hasn't gone anywhere. The stereo speakers remained where they were, but were 25% louder. Bluetooth 5.0 version, Touch ID is responsible for data transfer. Qi wireless charging is a bonus. This is realized thanks to the glass body. Definitely a plus, but you definitely need to purchase AirCharge from Apple, or an equivalent from other manufacturers.
