Since the screen takes up the entire front, there was no room for Touch ID. Instead, Apple has started using facial recognition technology called Face ID. It is difficult to talk about the quality of the technology, but it is definitely part of the future. The company assures us that the speed of its work will be very high. Let's see in practice.

You can return to the home screen with a gesture from the bottom up, similarly, a list of running tasks opens. Taking a screenshot is now done with the volume button "—" and the lock key. Siri is invoked by pressing the key. I can’t say that the absence of a button will make life much worse, you just need to get used to it. Then everyone will say: "Why touch ID and a button at all. It's easier without it."

Work speed

Everything here is similar to 8 Plus, so the text will be similar. What surprises me is the characteristics of the device. Inside there is an Apple A11 Bionic processor, which is so powerful that it can be easily "dragged" with a MacBook. This is a 6-core chip, which is more powerful than the one that is in the iPad Pro 12.9 2017. It is 25% more powerful than A10. In fact, it can be installed in the "dock" and used instead of a PC. With it, you can generally forget about "freezes", "lags" and other problems.

This processor power will be used for AR-kit (augmented reality). And absolutely fantastic graphics in games. You can easily reach the level of consoles. Thanks to the new processor, the distribution of resources has become much more optimal, so the phone "lives" to the maximum.

The amount of RAM is 3GB. This is quite enough for the system to work quickly, since the memory speed of the phone itself is at a very high level.

I can add that the processor is far from simple here. It is designed to work with AR and augmented reality and communication with neural networks to continuously improve the phone software and algorithms.

Video shooting is possible in 4k, 60 fps, slow motion at 240 fps (Full HD). Improved algorithms for processing photos in poor lighting, detail will increase. Separately, there was no delay between pressing the button and the picture itself.

Separately singled out "Portrait Light". It analyzes the photo and adds the effect of studio lighting. The photo is just great. By the way, this mode is also available on the front camera. Definitely a very good job with the camera.
