The iPhone XR is an alternative replacement for the iPhone X as the latter has been discontinued. At the same time, it has significant advantages compared to the top ten, however, it was not without its drawbacks. What are the pros and cons of the brand new iPhone XR? Perfect iPhone XR Display

The iPhone XR has an IPS matrix, which is well known to all users of Apple technology. Such screens are installed in the MacBook, iPad Pro, iPhone up to the 10th generation. Perfect and rich color reproduction that "eats the eyes" and leaves comfortable use for a long time. The new screen is called "Liquid Retina", IPS-matrix is ​​calibrated and balanced. And the color coverage range is DCI P3, which makes the image just fantastic.

Another advantage of the iPhone XR is the screen size, which is 6.1 inches. This is more than the iPhone Xs, but less than the iPhone Xs Max, the golden mean. The extension is 1792 × 828 pixels, for a total of 326 dpi, ideal Retina, as in the days of 4 and 4s. The screen is equal to or better than the iPhone X in all respects, except for one thing - the depth of black, because there is no black color in the OLED matrix, this area is simply turned off, so the black color there is as black as possible.

Maximum operating speed!

The iPhone XR received the most powerful hardware, which is similar to the Xs and Xs Max. The Apple A12 Bionic was taken as a basis with a neural network training system to speed up the device called the Neural Engine. To do this, a special zone is allocated in the processor, consisting of 8 cores and performs 5 trillion operations per second and up to 9 times faster than the previous generation. According to Apple, this processor is up to 15% faster and 50% more power efficient than the Apple A11 Bionic. Graphically, it is 50% more powerful than its predecessor and supports Metal2 technology.

Every moment will be saved in the camera

Many will say: "But 12 megapixels has remained the same, nothing has changed." An extension of 12 megapixels is just how much information can get on the matrix, everything else corresponds to the size of these individual pixels, optics, color conversion and display algorithm.

Thanks to the Neural Engine, the photo quality has improved quite a lot, especially in portrait mode (which is supported here). Each hair will be displayed correctly, because there was a problem in portrait mode, that the hair was "swallowed" programmatically and a piece of the head could be cut off. By the way, "Portrait Mode" is out of Beta testing.

SMART HDR. Here is an interesting thing. Standard HDR (High Dynamic Range) - the process of creating a photo from 3 shots. The first is "underexposed" or overexposed, the second is normal exposure, and the third is "overexposed" or dark. From these three photos, we get a balanced frame, where the light parts are not overexposed, and the dark parts are not “failed” into black. Apple implemented this technology using 9 photos with different exposures! The result is fantastic.

The portrait mode has also been upgraded. Now you can change the aperture value after the photo is taken. From f/1.4 to f/16 (the smaller, the more "bokeh"). The accuracy and correctness of processing the results also increased.

The front camera TrueDepth remained from the value of 7 megapixels. It shoots well even in low light. Also, do not forget about the frontal "correct" flash, which adds photo realism. Many people are now talking about the skin enhancement mode, which was added to the novelties, but the effect is not particularly great, so you can sleep peacefully.

Don't forget the features!

3D Touch has been replaced with a long press (hold). Why they did this is not at all clear. Possibly due to technological difficulties. We can't call it a problem, but it made the device even more accessible!

The case is no longer made of steel, but of aluminum 7000 series, as in the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus. Thanks to this, it has become lighter and more practical. The edges are not polished, which means they will not wear off as quickly.
